Three decades on from the first British expedition to Everest, Bec Astley Clarke accompanied her Father, the team’s chief medical officer, on an unchartered Himalayan expedition. Using only 19th Century British army maps Bec realised quickly that at the heart of climbing, where rope is your life line, the knot becomes your life preserver and essential link in your chain.
