This 18 carat gold-plated sterling silver ring is a considered take on the gemstone cocktail ring and presents a harmonious colour pairing of warm yellow gold and a pearly shell slice. Featuring a mother of pearl shell slice surrounded by shining white sapphires, this ring is inspired by images of rhythmic tides being pushed and pulled by the moon.

The story behind the stone…

Amongst one of the first materials used by ancient craftsmen for decorative purposes, mother of pearl has been used for millennia for utensils and ornamentation. Fine mother of pearl artefacts have been found in Turkey dating back to the early Bronze Age, and in the Egyptian pyramids from around 4,500BC.
