Wax Set Casting

Wax Set Casting
Discover how we use the Wax Set Casting process for all our white diamond pave gold jewellery

At Astley Clarke we hand-make our pavé jewellery using a truly modern casting technique. It is a technique that ensures the hardwearing reliability of each piece whilst achieving a lightness that layers and brings our jewellery to life.

Traditionally, pavé diamonds are set into the metal at the end of the casting process, meaning the prongs that hold the stones are cast upright and hand-bent over each stone during setting.

Our technique hand-sets the diamonds into the wax model before it is cast and the molten gold envelops the diamonds securing them in exactly the correct position meaning the prongs are never bent which can weaken the metal and eventually result in loose stones.
