April’s birthstone is the incomparable diamond. Taking its name from the Greek word ‘adamas’ meaning ‘invincible’, diamonds are the hardest known natural substance on earth and their durability is one of the many things that makes them so coveted and enduring.
Diamond is one of the oldest minerals in the universe; traces of diamond have even been discovered in the hearts of extra-terrestrial meteorites that have fallen to earth. A lot of our diamond designs take inspiration from the cosmos, or celestial clusters, creating a bond between the jewellery and the diamond’s pure carbon origins.
Traditionally an emblem of fearlessness, it is also symbolic of love. The Greeks believed that diamonds were splinters of stars fallen to earth to endow the wearer with purity, love and joy.
Although the more traditional white, ‘colourless’ stones are the most popular, diamonds are available in a host of vibrant colours including yellow, brown, blue, pink, red, green, orange and black.
Typically a symbol of marriage, proposal and commitment, we believe that so beautiful a gemstone should be loved and adored by whoever, whenever they so desire. Our diamonds are designed to be gifted to loved ones, or yourself, and worn, layered and enjoyed every day.
