The story behind the stone…

Moonstone has been associated with moon goddesses through the ages, due to its mystical, iridescent surface. Pliny the Elder (23-79 AD), a Roman historian, naturalist and author of the world's first encyclopaedia, referred to stones called 'astrions' - meaning star-stones, thought now to have been moonstones.

Really pretty, green onyx looks so beautiful when it catches light. I purchased this to go in my helix, and it looked good, only it was so so tight and really uncomfortable. I thought I would be fine because the cartilage is thinner than the lobe, but it was pressing all the time and it got really uncomfortable and swollen after about a week. This is made for skinny earlobes. But still very pretty. Also the gold was really soft.

So delicate, but a really striking colour. Looks great in a stack.
